SOL Question

I live in maryland. My debt is 6 yrs old. SOL have passed on all the debt I owe.
I made a mistake and call the American Express to do a settlement on the account.(I did it because of job I am trying to get).Would this reset the SOL clock? I did not make any payment or send anything in writing. Thanks
