Your attorney isn't bogus.... and he IS allowed to send you to collections if you don't pay his fees. Letting it GO to collections will do major damage to your post-bankruptcy credit, so you do NOT want him to do that.

What is he charging you for ?

Did your Trustee not say anything to you about surrendering your tax refund ?? They usually do and they make no bones about letting you know they want it too.

What were the terms of the agreement you signed with him when you hired him ?? That agreement spells out EXACTLY what his charges would be. If it was ALL included in a flat fee, then he shouldn't be charging you for anything else, but I highly doubt it - lawyers simply don't work on flat fee only.
