bankruptcy

My husband has been living in and working in Montana for two years, we are not divorced, I live in Arizona he supports us here. He is a truck driver and his business is based out of Montana. We would like to do a bankruptcy, but we are not sure how this would work with him in one state and I in the other. Does anyone know?
