I am very aware the debtor gets 1k and the attorney gets 10k and no I do not think it is in the least bit fair. I also know the attorney rarely goes after the real culprit which is the guilty collector because they are often as poor and in more debt than the debtors they call and victimize. You also forget these debtors have tried to talk to the CA. Your company does not accept certified mail and you know it. Companys like camco and their ilk abuse debtors over the phone and that is where the mass lawsuits start so a conversation with them is worthless. I have no doubt your job is hard and I would not want it. However, there are ways of collecting and some people take the wrong path(such as your company).
