My husband just got a notice as well. Scott I find it interesting that you mention Whitewing as this is the company that mailed him. What I find interesting as well as the only thing they have is an avidavit(sp) from the bank. The account was originally opened in 1990, closed in 1991 and his last payment was in 1992. Since I didn't even know my husband back then, I suggested that the last payment in 1992 could have been a final payment, she said "do you have proof it was?".......Yeah, right, 11 yrs later? They did offer to accept approx. 1/6th of the balance, though I'm still not willing to pay any past amount with out proof of what exactly it is. From what I'm reading here, there really isn't anything they can do, is that correct?
