You can try for a negotiated settlement through the court mediation proccess. Your tax return cannot be liened, although once you put it in a bank account under your own name, it can be seized. 75% of your NET take home pay is exempt from garnishment, plus if you fall withn certain minimum guidelines you may have all your pay exempted.
