Go here http://pro.wsba.org/, put in the attorney's name, and compare the attorney's address on the complaint and summons to the address on the WSBA site. If they're different, then compare Asset's address with the attorney's address on the summons. The attorney I dealt with had his regular office, then a fake address in the collection agency office. The VP of the collection agency was the attorney's 'paralegal' and tried to run the case. It's impossible for a CA to cease collection, yet negotiate a settlement directly with you. You may have to file a motion asking the court to order the CA to butt out.
