Actually, you would need to check your Chexsystems report. They are a credit reporting agency that banks report closed and suspicious accounts to. You can go to www.chexhelp.com and check your report. Just click that you have been denied for credit in the past 60 days and you can receive a free one. I applied for mine online and they mailed me my report. It took a little over a week to receive. Most banks go through Chexsystems to verify the creditworthiness of their new customers.
