from what i understand it was their error that cost them the payment. i dont think you are liable since you gave them the correct information and they didnt handle it in a timely manner. write them a letter and send them a copy of what your insurance agency sent you. tell them you are not responsible for their errors and they are to take it up with the insurance agency ot write it off. you will not accept any negative ratings on your credit report due to their neglect of the laws. make sure to have confirmation when they receive the letters. i would send it certified return receipt requested. this way you have told them that you are not responsible and you have a signature from them that they received your notice. good luck
