I have recieved a sue letter from this organization recently. They are in error as the account was settled a year ago.
besides all the threats that is bestowed upon the consumer (in this case error) the helpful people at Wolpoff mislead you as to how to rectify the account. They simply tell you to produce the paperwork or you will be sued.

considering the time went by since the account was settled, I had placed everything in storage and was not quite sure how easy it would be to find my paperwork.

I called discoverCard, they admitted the error and the account is closed.

What bothers me at this time is that any information collected by tape, electronic transfer, hard copy and the such still exists and
will continue to exist until they feel the need to remove it.

Does anyone know of any cases against collectors when they refuse to destroy information collected illegally. I am also tracking my hours to backbill for the research and time spent dealing with these idiots. Anybody know of any suits I can refer to or any success on this.
