incorrect charge off date

In a previous thread I had asked about incorrect charge off date. On CR it has charged off 10-98. I have old CR and credit card statements showing date of last payment 07-96. I tried to dispute online with CR and they emailed back remains. How would I get the charge off date changed to 01-97 where it should be? Thanks for the help!!
