I live in Iowa, and because of a divorce had to file bankruptcy in August, 1995. Today I received a letter from JBC & Associates today trying to collect on a check I supposedly wrote in September, 1993. I looked on What Chat's website to see if there was a SOL, but it doesn't give one for NSF checks under Iowa.

Also, on my credit report, it shows that I had "Paid as Agreed" a personal loan at a hometown bank that I had procured in 1990 and paid in full in 1994. This is under Equifax. However, the hometown bank was sold since then, and in February, 2003, both Experian and TransUnion state that the bank (under it's new name) reported this loan as a bad debt. How can they report something incorrectly like that 9 years after the fact?
