Doesn't matter WHEN they BOUGHT the account, SOL runs from the ORIGINAL DEBT. SOL does NOT run from charge-off, it runs from first delinquency leading to charge-off. If you went delinquent in 12/96, then the SOL EXPIRED in 12/2002 !!
6 months BEFORE the charge-off date is when the SOL would start. In most states, making a payment of any kind after charge-off does NOT restart the SOL !! If there was no new written agreement to pay, they had crap.
