Did your first payment bring the account current ? If so, then you reset the DOLA and the SOL. If it did not, then the DOLA would still be the last time you paid before charge-off. So, you have to use the DOLA that happened before charge-off. IF you brought the account current with your Jan payment, then the DOLA would change to July or August which would then precede a charge-off in Dec 96 or Jan 97. Either way, the SOL has expired !

There can be only ONE charge-off.
