The most important thing you have to do now is to file a legal document with the courts called an "answer".

There is a time limit to file your answer, and if you do not file within the time limits set forth by your courts rules of civil procedure, normally 20-30 days from date of service, you lose by default.

In your answer you will list the SOL as an "affirmative defense". If you do not do so, you may not be able to use it during trial.

It may be worth retaining an attorney to do get this case tossed. The courts may deem a time-barred lawsuit as frivolous and you can recoup your attorney fees from the plaintiff.
