It sounds to me like nothing that happended in the past really matters now. You said an attorney contacted you. Did he call you? Did he send you a letter? Is so, what does the letter say? I guess the $6000.00 owing is the difference from the sale of your car? If they took you to court, what assets do you have that they could get? I ask that question because, that is exactly what the attorney is asking himself. I'm sure he already knows what you have or don't have. If you have nothing to get, then stop stressing yourself out about this. A suit may never be filed. Does your state allow garnishment of wages?
