Since I realized my first telephone call was from Scamco more than a year ago, I have procrastinated from doing anything beyond filing complaints with the BBB and FTC. (this is about a 1989 debt) I get a few calls a week now, and, I guess monthly letters. Today's letter says in part: [SIZE=1][B][I]This letter is to notify you that your CitBank account which was formerly held by Fourscore Resource Capital LLC has been purchased by Capital Acquisitions and Management Company. Unless you notify this office within 30 days after receiving this notice that you dispute the validity of the debt or any portion thereof, this office will assume this debt is valid. If you notify this office in writing within 30 days from receiving this notice, this office will obtain verification of the debt or a copy of a judgment against you and mail you a copy of such verification or judgment. If you request this office in writing within 30 days after receiving this notice, this office will provide you with the name and address of the original creditor, if different from the current creditor.[I][/B][SIZE=1]
. . . Validation letter? Cease and Desist? Aaack.
