We have been having financial problems for the last year. Husband unemployed now working for himself - fraction of what he was making. I just became unemployed and received a severance. I have worked out settlements with some creditors but not all. A california credit collection guy called and said he would recommend they get a judgement against us because we have assets. We have been paying on secured assets - trying to avoid reposetion - we are upside down on almost all of the assets. Can they go after my checking or savins account? I still have some money there which I am trying to save to pay for essentials. how long does it take to get a judgement?
