Creditors frequently will "freeze" a bank account in Tx BEFORE they file a judgment.

Close your account and reopen another, at a different bank, joint with someone OTHER than your spouse (Tx is a community property State), with that person's name (and ss#) as primary.

Your pay cannot be garnished, and there is TOTAL homestead exemption in Tx, so once you protect your cash, you will be fairly immune.
