1. $9000+ debt
2. made agreement over the phone for 30% to payoff debt
3. 3 payments over 3 months + a little more
4. paid the first 1200
5. got a 0.00 balance statement a few days later with the remaining balance credited leaving a 0.00 balance
6. called the next month to pay next payment on the agreement - rep said account was paid in full - asked for a closure letter they said in one week
7. waited 2 weeks - no letter
8. called (hear rep call it a 'pre-suit' account) passed me to another rep, asked for closeure letter and the rep said that the 'zero balance' statement was the closure letter.
9. Still have not sent in the next payment on my agreement but it isn't 30 days late.

My question is: is the account really closed with 10% paid and the zero balance statement, or do Walpoff and Abramson want me to break the agreement and sue for the full amount?

Or can the lie to me? I asked if they bought my debt or if they represent MBNA. They said they represent and that they have not sold my debt to anyone else...

Is my account really settled or not?

Thanks,
Confused
