The collection agency probably staged the phrase "pre-suit account" so you would here them say it. They want you to respond out of fear and pay out your hard earned dollars to them. You have the Zero Balance letter and I would tell the CA to "eat crow and die" before paying any additional.

A collection attorney is no different than a collection agency except they try to use the law to make their claim. Don't trust either.

I would play this one out and see what happens.
