Whoa.. hold on there bucko ! Did this agreement have YOUR signature on it ?? If not, its worthless. AND... If ALL you got was a copy of the original agreement, that is NOT proper validation. They must also cough up a FULL ACCOUNTING of every charge, payment, etc. that backs up their claim of the alleged balance they say you owe. If you didn't get that part of it, then you're not done by a long shot. You need to go back to creditinfocenter and read thru the strategy a bit more.. and the case law and FTC opinions that support the tactics. Throwing up your hands in defeat and blaming others for it is not going to help you in this war.
