Yes, there are statutes laid out that define what your exemptions from judgment and bankruptcy are. Usually they are one and the same.

So.. what state are you in ?? Exemptions vary by state.

You can find exemptions at www.thebankruptcysite.com and under 'what do I keep' you'll find a state listing. Choose your state. On the list, on the right-hand side will be the appropriate state statute number that governs each exemption.
