Your home will not be taken, however your personal property is most certainly vulnerable, to the extent that equity in them is over your allowable exemptions and provided you have anything that could be levied.

It doesn't matter how bad this CA is. The fact remains that they have Judgment against you and a Lien on your home.

If you are going to file a Motion to Set Aside the Judgment, ask within the same motion to transfer to another division. So your Motion will look like this;

Motion to Set Aside Judgment and to Transfer to Alternate Division

The judge should honor the transfer and this will buy you a little more time. The new division will notify you of a date for setting. Make sure you or your attorney shows up and ask for a date about 120 days from now. You will need to Notice your Motion up for Hearing and send a copy to the opposing side and file your Certificate of Service with the court. You will need a good reason for the Judgment to be Set Aside. If you can get an attorney, please do so, as they will have more tricks in their bag.
