I do know that the OC still owns the debt, but they are using an outside collection agency to collect the debt. But the OC will not speak with me at all. They refer me to the CA, there is an attorney for the OC, but he won't ever return inquiries or calls. They are currently garnishing 25 percent of my wages, so I can not afford an attorney at this time. Last time I went to court to fight a garnishment, the judge kept hinting that there might be something else I can use to appeal the garnishment but he said he can not provide me with legal advice.
but, if an account is assigned does that necessarily mean that the OC signed away their rights? My main question is, what does it mean when an account is assigned.
