: : I just got a copy of my credit report and noticed that a credit union viewed my credit history 5 months ago. I am very suspicious since my ex-wife (divorced 4 years now) works at this credit union. How can I find out why my credit history was accessed? Can I take any legal action?
: You sure can! Send a certified letter to the place that did the inquary and inform them you want the signed authorization form that you signed to authorize the credit inquary. If they send a letter back saying the don't have one, send a copy to the cr bureau and then contact a lawyer for them violating the FC laws and seek damages.

I see I have stumbled across an old question here but thought I would respond anyway. Richard, do you know of any web links to more info on this type of problem? Also, on seeking damages, what type of damages would one pursue in this case?
