It is a violation of the fdcpa to collect on a debt that has been asked for validation on but none has been received. Send them a demand letter for $464.29 which would be the $1000 fine- the amount of the debt. Well maybe not but if you wanted to fight it you could. Since they sent a letter you have plenty of proof against them. Ask for JR here and put it in the subject line. She is out of cali and can look at your case(she is an attorney of course).
