What is a "Trade Line"?

As far as my CR is concerned, I just ordered all three the other day, and found the state tax folks had put a lien on me, though I own practically nothing. They never even warned me about doing that. However, my CR is so bad right now it is just too scary and depressing to look at. I felt like Fat Bastard looking at my naked a** in the mirror. That said, I eventually do want to clean it up, not just my top priority right now. Fortunately I just landed a job without my employer doing a credit check. However, I'm going to need to get my own apartment soon, and I know that most landlords run credit reports, although I don't know. I have bad consumer credit, but I've never missed a car or rent payment.

However, I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. It sounds like being aggressive worked for you, no? When would be the right time to get aggressive, when they threaten to sue? Is there any way to tell when the CA is just threatening and when they really mean it?

Thanks.
