I was recently reported to chexsystems by my credit union due to NSF activities. All those checks cleared anyway because I guess the checks were deposited a second time. I never had any bad deposits at all and I had an active direct deposit for over 3 years. I thought that as long as checks were cleared, I was okay. I never owed anyone, including the credit union any money. All of their fees were paid and I was never negative in my account. They said that anytime checks were returned, they were considered NSF even if they cleared later. They reported me to chexsystems for account abuse. I was told that account abuse was if someone was a fraud suspect - if I made bad deposits and wrote checks against them.
Does anyone know if I have an argument or at least if the bank can write a letter stating that I never owed any money and that I never made any bad deposits so that I could present it to a bank to open an account.
