Legally, this process is POSSIBLE in ALL States. However, it is much more difficult in States like Ca. and Fl. because the Courts follow a different procedure than they do in Tx. In MOST States, there has to be SOME reasonable proof of sizeable nonexempt assets that there is a REAL danger of the debtor moving before an impending lawsuit. Even if a judgment is already obtained, in MOST States it takes some PROOF that the bank account is not exempt. (however in NJ and a few other States there are unscrupulous CA's who will freeze (after judgment) exempt accounts that a debtor has not filed an exemption on with the Courts)
