Need advice with W&A

I have a problem with an old debt. Here is a little history:

FYI, I live in Virginia

The account went delinquent in 1998/1999, was sold to Wolpoff & Abramson. They garnished the full amount from my checking account in September of 2000.

It is November 2003. Bank of America *still* shows an outstanding balance, they claim W&A hasn't notified them of payment. I have proof of the payment, from the court documents, but W&A doesn't care to send BoA a notification. I have called numerous times asking for them to do this so my credit will improve.

What are my options? I can't force W&A to send the letter. I can't force BoA to remove the outstanding debt.
