Definition of "30 days" for reporting purposes

Just helped friend pull her 3-in-1 and found a department store (Banana Republic, looks like Monogram of Ga. as issuer)reporting her as "30 days" on the beginning of the November month "tape" (two bureaus) when payment was due October 29, check shows as cashed on Nov. 6.

I've never had a 30 day report when I had a payment or two arrive a week late (if that happened here), and had oppressive "late fees" removed under the "good customer" line. (Customer is in NYS)
