I have just spent quite a while on the phone with an attorney from Trans Union (I'm a consumer attorney) and they WILL NOT delete a PAID tax lien untill 7 years after it is PAID/RELEASED. The IRS will release the lien from the property but, the credit report continues to show a paid tax lien.

I can only speak from my experience. I can't say what will or won't happen in your circumstances. I hope that you do get it deleted.
