Federal Suit Charges AmeriDebt with Deception
The Federal Trade Commission files suit against AmeriDebt, one of the nation's largest credit-counseling services. The FTC suit claims the company engaged in deceptive marketing practices and charged consumers hidden fees.

These places are all SCAMS! This is warning to all who are contemplating using them to fix their credit woes. NONE of them help you and most creditors will not work with them. Deal with your own creditors yourself, a call to the credit card company in good faith will usually end up with them helping you...a lower % rate, no fees for months and some have special programs. It worked for me, I just called and told them I was in financial burden right now and my Visa, for example, gave me $25 payments at 6% and no overdraft fees for 1 year! As long as you make your payments on time they will work with you. I have learned that credit problems happen when you are afraid and ignore the debt. If you deal with it when it happens you will be surprised at what they will work with you on. I learned all of this the hard way and after 8 years now, I have my debts paid off and my life back. No more calls and no more debt. People's financial situations change and sometimes people ned help and believe it or not, credit card companies understand that. Without consumers...they make no money. They need us!! so they are willing to work with us.
