Paid account hasnt been reported as paid

I paid off NCO for an american express debt 45 days ago. I was promised that i would receive a letter showing the debt paid in full, which it was, but I have never received it. I called NCO and they said they would start the process of getting me a letter "again" Can I demand this letter so I can submit it to the Credit bureaus?
