Ar you sure you were dealing with Providian, and not a 3rd party CA? How old was this debt? Most likely you will not only NOT get the tradeline notation you wanted, but the Providian tradeline will not change at all and the unpaid balance will be sold to another CA, who will then report it as a new collection account.
