hey whats up. i have an unusual situation. i went through a divorce in 2001 and due to having more living expenses i had to stop paying on my new truck. it took me 6 months to get settled in my new apartment and i told the bank where the truck was and to come get it. i told them again 2 months later and never heard from them since. i am not going to relocate and not sure what to do with the truck. i do not want to give anyone my new address where i plan to live a long time. i was paying half payments in nov. and dec. 2001 and i stopped paying i think in jan 2002 all together. each time i called i contacted the repo department with my new location. i have driven the truck some this year considering that insurance is paid up on it and plates and all. never heard anything from the bank by phone or mail or anything. i initiated the whole deal in the first place. now the plates are up and i will get a ticket parking in my parking area. what now. should i just park it in my friends garage? or should i take it to the bank and leave it? Should I just take it with me when i move. i was told not to surender it since pickup arrangements were made twice in the past and it is the banks fault. it may just open a book that might soon be closed and just to wait it out. my credit report shows owing about 10,000 on one, and 0 balance on the other 2 credit reporting places. my recolection is owing no more than 8G. i have proof of what is owed in storage with other papers. none of the reports show repo or anything late that i can see. is there a sol on this kind of thing, a repo that never happened? any info would be nice. i don't want to keep the truck but if there is an sol or repo rule broken here i will wait it out and then if it is not picked up i will give it back when it is safe. i am just now able to get a decent place to live and don't need this hanging over me now. thanks for the help.
