hi please help. picked up a summons today from post office. i read brandons situation and thought maybe you would give me some advice. the last payment to original discover made 1996. i lived in MI to 1999 and now reside in OH. SOL may be the way not to make things complicated, but heres the way it goes. they have been phoning me for years (I have moved several times and never has a phone number been in my name)i did have a discover that year and made a few payments, but then they billed my for over a thousand dollars and i knew that was way off. i have requested a statement from them everytime and got nothing-the calls continued. i have not been able to get a credit card or loans because of this. last year i had to file a identy theft report because someone had been using my name and such. here is the real problem the summons is in my full name but the exhibit a attatched is someone elses first name with the same middle and last name (I recall the creditor calling me by this name on one of our phone calls and he told me that my name is a nickname for that and laughed at him). anyhow i have not the funds for an attorney and i am obviously quite confused. i hope you will have time to answer my perplexed situation. thanks, sun
