If the law is on your side, you can hire a lawyer as you will get attorneys fees back when you win.

Best thing is to go to the library and check out the self help books-

How to win in small claims court
How to represent yourself in court

Get the one that is state specific.

This will give you a good overview of the process.

I'm not sure about the ss but go to www.naca.net
and call one of them and ask if that is grounds for dismissal.
