This would not be considered proper validation. Tell the CA that you are disputing the current balance being reported and as this account goes back many years and is riddled with numerous mistakes, that you will need a complete and full accounting so as to account for alleged balance. Until a line by line ledger style accounting is accomplished, please note this account as disputed with the appropriate CRA's as required by FDCPA.

What you have just done is 1)asked for validation, and 2)disputed the account and the CA is required to add dispute to your CR.

After 45 days, a still no validation, send a copy of the letter sent to CA's along with a copy of CRRR's to the CRA's that are listing this account on your CR. Ask for deletion because the CA can't validate this account as it is listed on your CR and has been reporting incorrect information. Your chances are good, that it will be deleted.
