Postpone submitting your mortgage application until you know for sure then. As the CRA's and CA's don't work on our time schedule, give it an additonal month or two if necessary. Thats the least you can do considering your about to get into a mortgage for 360 months (30 years). Take your time and make good decisions. Don't let a realestate agent or spouse, pressure you into making a hasty decision because of a good deal on a house. In my experience there is always a good deal out there, all of the time.
