They told you taping in progress well into the call? Looks like illegal taping to me, they must announce this at the beginning of your chat and get your permission before taping. Call the FTC right away as well as the Attorney General of your state and the local police. If your state is a two-party consent state you might be able to bring criminal charges against them and the jackanape who pulled this too clever by half stunt. Why not call the FBI also, hey they investigate illegal interstate wiretapping, right? Shine light on rancid putrid bugs and they run. This way you don't have to get your nice shiny shoes dirty by stomping them.
