Problem Child....if I read your posted question correctly, US Receivables Service Inc. sent a letter spelling your mothers name out on the envelope (in her name), to your mothers address? In addition, this letter disclosed information about your account?

If the above information is correct...the answer is NO !!! This is a technique utilized by collectors known as "skip tracers". Although it's effective, it's also very illegal and punishable under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. What the US Receivables Service Inc. company did was called "3rd party disclosure". They most likely obtained your mothers address by looking at your original credit application where you may have listed her as a reference or family member. What I need to know next is simply this...was your mother an Authorized User on the account? If she wasn't, I hope she saved the envelope and it's contents...you may have just earned yourself some Christmas spending money. 3rd Party Disclosure is a punishable offense of no less than $1,000...not to mention having your account closed and your credit rating cleaned if negotiated properly.

If you can obtain proof of my previous statement, such as the original correspondence...let me know. I'll tell you what you need to do from there.

Good luck and congratulations...you've just been dealt a Straight Flush from a collection agency!

What a gift !!

Sincerely,

THE INSIDER
