Thank you Insider,

Actually, this was the first time i have posted on this board - so i don't think you have previously responded to me. But thank you for taking the time to respond this time. :-)

Quite frankly, all of this is greek to me. I have paid my bills for the last 12 years on time and this year has just been the worst. In attempt to get out of debt, I have stopped paying my creditors, stopped debting and started to pay myself first. I am at the point where I am very very seriously looking at bankruptcy. I have so many other pending and important things going on with my family right now, and while I know BK sticks around for 10 years on the credit report (and forever with me) I am willing to take this road in order to get relief from all of this lingo and downright nasty criminal behavior. I don't want to be sued, I don't want to fight fire with fire - I F***ked up - I pay. It's my reponsibility and I won't blame anyone else but me for this mess. Once out of this mess I sure as hell am NOT going to get back into this stinkin' debt trap. It SUCKS.

My question for you is this:
I promised to pay W & A on the first of December. I cannot pay them on the 1st. Should I send them a letter telling them such or ignore them? I plan to hire an attorney and pay him off in payments - which once I make the final payment the BK papers get filed. This probably won't be until Jan or early Feb. Based on your experience, do you think I would encounter pressure tactics or be served for lawsuit in this time frame, or do you think by telling W &A that I am declaring BK and contact my attorney that would take care of the nasty correspondence?

Like a complete and trusting idiot I gave them my work address so if they wanted to serve me it would come to work - I would be absolutely appalled if this happened and would have a hard time explainining this one.

Any thoughts or advice is appreciated. Thank you!!!!!!!

Aspenanne
