Hi

California's homestead exemption is $75,000
What if my house equity is $130,000 ? Am I more likely to lose my house if I am sued? I can't apply for equity loan to pay cc bills because my full-time job became part-time. I can just enough to pay the mortgage and food.

Is there anyway to protect my house from cc debt lawsuit? I am worrying sick to think of losing my house. Do I have to reduce my house equity to below $75,000? California's real estate market is getting hotter & hotter each day, and most homeowners are very happy for it but not me.

Please advise.
