Psychological term used to increase your anxiety level like a momentous decision is about to be undertaken (say to sue you) and it would be in your best interest to call back and pay NOW before that occurs.

In reality, it means the decision they have to make is whether to call you again tomorrow. Because, if you don’t call today, they’ll decide to call you tomorrow.

It is a good hook though, isn’t it? It’ll get a person wondering.
Come into my web says the spider to the fly.

Everything about collections is TIME, TIME, TIME. They continuously need to create a sense of URGENCY. It’s urgent that you do this NOW, that you pay TODAY, that payments are Western Union, check by phone,, NOW, NOW, NOW. Less time for the consumer to think over his options. Less time to ask questions and think about what to do. The passage of time is a collector’s worst enemy and a debtor’s best friend.

Make decisions and payments on YOUR terms, NOT theirs.
