Bad Debt or Bankruptcy on Credit

Which looks 'better'? BK or late payments, charge offs, collections, liens etc. I live in CA and have $11,500 in unsecured debt (credit card and consolidation loans). Am 90 days late to three creditors and been turned over to W & A for collections on 2 MBNA accounts. Can't pay their high fees, would BK be a better thing...or just dealing with W & A and try to make payments, even if small? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
