This is supposed to be for a charged off home depot account.

It was with Wolpoff & Abramson for a while and I made a few payments to them before I was out of work and we had to choose between getting to eat or pay bills...

Here's what's happened:

Letter dated august 7 2003 from Northland group offering to settle for a little more than 50% in 3 payments....

Letter dated august 21 2003 from Northland Group offering same amount but in 2 payments....

September 22 2003 (after doing a month of research on the topic) I send a validation request/partial C & D letter to Northland Group...

Got the green card back on October 1 2003 - start an online dispute with Equifax.

Letter dated October 3 2003 from Northland Group sayign they have forwarded my request to Sherman Acqusitions.

Equifax response dated October 24 2003 sayign that Sherman Acquisitions verified the account. Account is NOT listed as in dispute.

Letter dated October 29 2003 from Alegis Group sayign they are in receipt of my recent inquiry and are in the process of investigating my claim.

Equifax response to a different dispute dated November 11 2003 - Sherman account STILL not listed as in dispute.

With the whole shuffle around on the Northland/Sherman/Alegis merry-go-round how can I prove this is a violation??? Sherman has not acknowledged ever receiving my validation request however two other companies have. Can Sherman turn aroudn and say they knew nothing of the dispute since other companies were handling it? OR do I have them on this????
