Was looking for some advice on these guys. We broke an apartment lease about 11 months ago due to medical and employment reasons. They sent the matter over to PHS in October without so much as contacting us -- nothing until PHS started calling relatives looking for us (even though the apartment complex had all of our forwarding information).

These have to be some of the rudest, nastiest SOBs I've ever dealt with. They've no interest in the what or why, just in getting the money. They're absolutely inflexible and when I told them we didn't have any money, they said they would come after us legally and hung up on me! From what I've read, this is pretty much SOP for this CA.

When a relative said they would lend us money to help us avoid a bankruptcy filing, I called them back -- 36 hours later, mind you. They refused to work with me further -- they said it's too late and they've sent it on to an attorney who will garnish our wages and attach assets.

Any suggestions on what to do? It's unbelievable that these guys would do this much over $3000 -- we left Maryland for Ohio when we broke the lease and it's going to cost more for them to sue us than they could ever make and when we say we do not have any money or assets we mean it -- we really are broke.

What happens next?
