TO: Indebt I also live in NC and owed mBNA bucks but lucked out, they never came after us and we are beyond the SOL a year. Anyway: Re your house, in NC you are allowed to keep $10K equity in your house but if you are married you get to keep $20K, this is called doubling. So figure that into the equity of your house.
